This morning I had a lovely dream that shows how important sleep is and how we can enhance our own wellbeing even while we are in the land of nod.
I was dreaming that I was relaxing in the yoga studio I go to, I was the only one in the room and I was lying on my back on the wooden floor. I could feel myself relaxing in the dream and I felt myself sink down and fall asleep. At this point I started to feel the sensations I usually feel when I am about to leave my body, a gentle fizzing like electricity running through me. I got up out of the dream me. My first thought was to get away from my body because the physical body tends to pull the energy body back into it if too close. However, the body I was looking at was a dream version so I thought it wouldn’t have that effect anyway. Looking at this dream body sleeping I felt rather detached from it, very different from how we feel when we are inside our bodies with all the business of life going on. I decided to do a trip inside my dream body to see if I could find any imbalances in my system.
I have no recollection of what happened on my trip inside myself, the next thing I remember is that I am sitting alongside the dreaming me applying Reiki energy on all of my main chakras starting from the crown and working down to my first chakra. Wonderful!
Lately I have been doing a lot of work on my own personal wellbeing, experimenting with different sounds and listening to them at night while I sleep. I feel that plant and stone music, recorded using my biofeedback device, promotes wellness and helps in creating balance. I have also been listening to various sacred solfeggio cds, again while I sleep.
When I wake up during the night I play a cd while I go back to sleep. I have recorded my plant and stone music on cds so it plays for about 60 minutes, I always fall back to sleep within the first 15 minutes, the rest of the cd goes on for another 45 minutes, I rarely wake up at the end of the music. As mentioned above I also listen to various meditative type music I particularly like the sacred solfeggio ones by Jonathan Goldman.
I love the idea that I can give myself Reiki while I sleep, of course this also implies that we can all promote our own wellbeing even while we are asleep. Intention is important as I have been holding the intention to heal and balance in my mind for a while now as well as putting that intention into my plant and stone music.
